From Casco Viejo, it’s back to Coronado Villa Victoria for a month. It might seem odd that we’re going back to a place where we’ve already stayed but…
Not that we have anyone to blame but ourselves…
We leave Clayton (we won’t miss much here) on the 28th for a little boutique hotel in Casco Viejo (“Old Town”).
Overhead in our bedroom last night…
We use our (Navy Federal Credit Union) credit card for almost everything here. We aren’t charged any foreign transaction fees and we pay it off in full every month. With every other card we have (except Discover which is accepted almost nowhere in Panama), we incur foreign transaction fees.
Last night we had some HUGE thunderclaps (the likes of which TinkerBelle had never heard)! They scared the bejeezus out of her! (Poor baby!) At first she barked ferociously but then she ran to the bathroom and hid in the shower for shelter.
They finally arrived but didn't come with any instructions. Fortunately, the bars only fit into the end caps one way. And the end caps are labeled “L” and “R” so, basically foolproof. But I'm a better fool than that!
A full (but small) house in the expat community of Playa Coronado (locally, it’s just “Coronado”), with a fenced in yard for the dogs and a private swimming pool all to ourselves… Things here weren't perfect but they were pretty great.
